It’s my blogiversary!!!

This morning started off like all other mornings. I was prepared to jump right into my regular morning ritual which involves coffee, my gratitude journal, bible reading, and prayer. As a habit, I make sure that each of these is complete before I dive into my daily dose of social media. However, today I drove off course and starting my morning by clicking on my FaceBook app.

Much to my surprise, I found myself face to face with a video that I posted on January 22, 2018 (a year ago today). I made the video after posting my very first blog post on this site. Although, I did not publish the blog post until this date, I had actually held on to it for several months. The blog post, “My battle with shame, and what I’m doing about it,” was, at that point in my life, the most vulnerable thing that I had ever shared in a public forum. It would be the first time that I would public admit that I was “undeniably flawed” and “owning it.” To say that I was scared of possible backlash was an understatement. Nevertheless, I clicked the published button that would give the readers the understanding that I was recovering from a bundle of habits that almost left me shipwrecked. I am happy to report that I have yet to receive negative feedback. On the contrary, I am continuously in awe of the support that I have received.

A year has now passed and I am absolutely floored. I was not expecting the blog to have the response that has resulted. I am humbled at the flood of messages from readers (from 38 different countries) who have asked for prayer, counsel, or simply to share that they are comforted to know that they are not alone in their struggle.

This year has started off with a bang. I am just about to finish my very first masterclass called “What?” (a non-religious discussion on the words, teachings, and actions of Jesus)….. and I’m currently working on 2 additional master classes that will help people work through their shipwrecks and mistakes of their past. More than anything, it has been an absolute joy pointing others towards the grace and gospel of Jesus….. I am so grateful to have each of you together with me in this journey.

I’m looking forward to seeing what else God has in store for me this year.
