I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with Father’s day. As a child and teen, I struggled to develop a deep connection with my father. Although I never doubted that he loved me, our difference in age created a huge chasm between us that never resolved before his passing. As an adult, I struggle with Father’s day because it is a reminder that I wasn’t able to have children of my own. This is the would that hurts the most of all. Last year I made a decision to take back Father’s Day. So instead of allowing the day to control me, I’ve taken back the day and make a solo adventure out of it. This past Sunday, while on my adventure, I created a 6 minute video that gives insight into my struggle and what God is showing me through this journey. Check it out. 🙂

This scripture came to mind when you said you gave up your dream for your step daughter:
John 15:13
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
