When the song ends….

Yesterday, my wife and I got the news that one of the young leaders from our church had taken ill and was at the hospital. As we usually do, we stopped what we were doing and said a prayer for her. Since it was going to be a busy morning, we made plans to visit and pray for her in the afternoon. But as we headed out the door to the hospital, we got news that she had passed away.
Death is almost always a traumatic blow. Especially when it is unexpected and when it knocks at the door of someone who is young and full of promise. The announcement of such tragedy is paralyzing and causes the heart to ache like no other. Although the feeling is temporary, it seems like it will never end.

Within each human soul is the awareness that we were created for eternity. A longing to live forever was planted in each of us before the begining of time.

As Jesus walked this Earth, he told us that in his Father’s house there were many mansions….. and he was going to prepare a place for us, and that where he was at, we could also be.

In our grief, I am comforted to know that our friend now resides with Jesus. Nevertheless, her absence among us is undeniable. Please keep the family of this wonderful young girl in prayer as they must now learn to navigate life in her absence. In like manner please keep the congregation of Iglesia Vida as we continue to minister in the midst of grief.

  5. Wow! Sudden loss is hard on every side. My prayer is that the Lord will comfort all affected with His peace and remind each of us that we are heading for a home where there will be no more tears, sorrow or separation.
