Bullies

It’s time to put up your dukes. 🥊🥊
It’s time to take back what’s yours. ✊💫
It’s time to set the proper boundaries 🧱🚫

At one time, I was part of a community that attempted to control every aspect of my life. They dictated what I wore, what I said, who I associated with, who I dated, and how I spent my time. Although it presented itself as a faith community, it was the furthest thing that God would desire for me. When I finally realized that the bullying of the leadership was affecting my ability to fulfill my purpose, I chose to walk away. As expected, I found myself alone for a brief time. However, the solitude was exactly what I needed to regain momentum to be the man that God created me to be. It also provided the space to create many meaningful friendships that have been beside me most of my adult life.

Wherever you are at in life, I encourage you take control of the direction of your life. Your life is to valuable to allow someone else to be in control of it.

Unapologetically yours,

John Eli

  1. You’re so right. At Psalms 26:5, King David said “I hate the company of evil men, And I refuse to associate with the wicked.” Bad association can ruin us (1 Corinthians 15:33; Proverbs 13:20) so we must remove ourselves from bullies. Any toxic relationship can bring us down.
