Your emotions do not own you….

Struggling to navigate through your emotions?
Try this strategy:

  1. Breathe: Sit still and take some deep breaths.
  2. Name it: Put a name to what you are feeling (joy, anger, sadness, fear, shame)
  3. Describe it: Describe how your emotions are showing up in your body. Where and how do you feel them?
  4. Listen to it: Complete this sentence, “If my emotion could speak to me it would tell me _.”
  5. Respond to it: Choose how you will respond to it.

I believe in you…
…. and I’m praying for you.
Go out and be all that God created you to be! 🙏🙌🔥

  1. A prayer I pray literally every day – out loud – is “Thank You for emotions that confirm the truth, but I acknowledge that Your truth stands on its own and needs no confirmation from me. Thank You for emotions that motivate me to serve You, and thank You for the ability to serve You whether I feel like it or not. Thank You that my feelings don’t get to define me or dictate what I say, do, focus on, believe, or choose. I have chosen You to be my Lord, not my emotions.”
Hearing myself say this every day is a huge help to me in not letting my emotions run my life.
