Struggling to navigate through your emotions?
Try this strategy:
- Breathe: Sit still and take some deep breaths.
- Name it: Put a name to what you are feeling (joy, anger, sadness, fear, shame)
- Describe it: Describe how your emotions are showing up in your body. Where and how do you feel them?
- Listen to it: Complete this sentence, “If my emotion could speak to me it would tell me _.”
- Respond to it: Choose how you will respond to it.
