The work that makes me come alive.

My current full-time job requires me to coach people that don’t necessarily want to be coached. Many of them are on a time crunch with a few minutes to talk and they just want to ask a simple question and receive a simple answerโ€ฆ Sadly, when these people don’t engage in conversation, your call receives a poor evaluation. โ€ฆ and receiving a poor evaluation never feels goodโ€ฆ.
(Even when I know that the evaluators have little to no experience coaching othersโ€ฆ they still sting,)โฃ
Needless to say, my life comes alive when I remove my headset and punch out of my 9 to 5. A 30-minute break is all I need to recharge and prepare for the work that I love to do. I am a Coach for Humans.
As the owner of my own coaching practice, I strongly refuse to work with anyone who doesn’t want to be coached.
โ€ฆ and what I experience as a transformational life coach is a complete opposite of what I experience in my full-time gig.

This evening, I had the privilege of coaching a young man from South Asia who was struggling to process grief. Our conversation was empowering for both of us. As we prepared to end our call I asked him what his biggest takeaway from our conversation was.

This coaching conversation, along with two others that I had this week, reminds me of why I do what I do.
I love empowering people to create the change that they desire to have in life.
I love helping people to connect with their authentic selves.
I love helping people to discover their purpose.
I love helping people to develop the beliefs and practices that they need to live life to the fullest.
I love being able to tailor each session to meet the needs of each client using my complete toolbox of modalities that are backed by evidence-based psychological theory.
These are the moments that make me come alive.

Unapologetically Yours,

John Eli

I am a self-awareness coach (coach for humans), life strategist, blogger and speaker. Iโ€™ve spent over 21 years mentoring individuals in life skills, career transitions, relationships, and life recovery. My resume includes pastoral care, behavioral health, and higher education. From an early age, I realized that God created me to bring hope, healing and encouragement to others. I am currently living out my purpose by creating a space where people can rediscover and become all that they were created to be. I currently live in the beautiful state of Arizona with my wife, two dogs, and an antique piano whom I call, โ€œBetty.โ€
