At that point, I knew that his personal convictions were not based on reality and that meeting with him was causing more harm to me than good.
It saddens me to say that I’ve seen people who participated in that very same event that I participated in, 25 years ago, pass judgment on people who are simply speaking up for their right to breathe.
Pain causes us to forget who we were.
It causes us to forget our purpose.
It causes us to lose our dreams.
The day came when I was no longer willing to hide behind a smile and I chose to walk away. My personal exodus led me to a literal desert where I had to learn to reclaim the life that I was created to have.
