Although it is completely impossible for you to change your past…. Your future is greatly dependent on you.
•
Stop holding on to past hurts and mistakes.
•
Choose to live in, and embrace, the new life that God gives.
•
You are not your failures… You are who God says you are…. You are a child of the king.
•
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36 ESV
Unapologetically yours,
John Eli Garay

John Eli is a transformational life coach who has spent over 15 years mentoring individuals in life skills, career transitions, and through organizational change. His resume includes pastoral care, behavioral health, and higher-education advising. From an early age, John recognized that God created him to bring hope, healing and encouragement to others. He is currently walking out his purpose by helping others confront, and work through, any negative self-talk that keeps them from living life to the fullest. His ministry includes blogging, speaking, and personal development coaching. He currently lives in Chandler, Arizona with his wife, mini-schnauzer and an antique piano whom he calls, “Betty.”
Also, when we ask God for forgiveness, we need to know He has forgiven us. So often, we take back the shame of the sin and keep dwelling on the past. We can learn from the past but the future is always brighter with Him.

Amen to that….
For years I had no problem accepting the forgiveness of God, but struggled to forgive myself. I am still working through this and by the grace of God I am learning how to. 🙂

Thank you for this. My daily dose of Tozer this morning from Tozer for the Christian Leader originated in I Talk Back to the Devil. I was a day behind on my reading – tough day yesterday. Anyway, he says that God knows that we sin, but the devil does too, and one of his favorite tricks is to remind us of our failures. In “talking back”, Tozer says that he shouts at the Devil that sin is terrible, but that comes from you, Devil! Forgiveness, cleansing, blessing are good things that come freely from God.

Forgiving ourselves is something I struggle with.. yet I am reminded that Jesus would not be honored if I don’t just let it go and move on.. there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus.

Amen! I agree with you on both… It’s a struggle… but God’s love and forgiveness is stronger. 🙂
