Forgive yourself

Although it is completely impossible for you to change your past…. Your future is greatly dependent on you.

Stop holding on to past hurts and mistakes.

Choose to live in, and embrace, the new life that God gives.

You are not your failures… You are who God says you are…. You are a child of the king.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36 ESV

Unapologetically yours,

  1. Also, when we ask God for forgiveness, we need to know He has forgiven us. So often, we take back the shame of the sin and keep dwelling on the past. We can learn from the past but the future is always brighter with Him.

    1. Amen to that….
For years I had no problem accepting the forgiveness of God, but struggled to forgive myself. I am still working through this and by the grace of God I am learning how to. 🙂

  2. Thank you for this. My daily dose of Tozer this morning from Tozer for the Christian Leader originated in I Talk Back to the Devil. I was a day behind on my reading – tough day yesterday. Anyway, he says that God knows that we sin, but the devil does too, and one of his favorite tricks is to remind us of our failures. In “talking back”, Tozer says that he shouts at the Devil that sin is terrible, but that comes from you, Devil! Forgiveness, cleansing, blessing are good things that come freely from God.
